Maria’s wrath ascended on us for days and left our small island in ruins. Everything that was lush and green is now brown and dead. Roofs are missing, buildings are collapsed. People are left with nothing. We are fortunate, though. We have food, water, power (from the generator), and all the people and pets we care about made it through safely.

It’s been raining for days! Actually, only about a day and a half, but it feels like days, with no end in sight. The weather report calls for rain all week. I don’t think we’ve seen this much rain since we’ve been here, and that includes when hurricane Matthew was looming.
